WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. It is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled consumer product.

Name of Product: Microphone

The metal boom of the microphone can conduct electricity from an exposed speaker wire or connector and shock or burn the user.

Units: About 7,500

Manufacturer: Nielsen-Kellerman Co., of Boothwyn, Penn.

Hazard: The metal boom of the microphone can conduct electricity from an exposed speaker wire or connector and shock or burn the user.

Incidents/Injuries: Nielsen-Kellerman has received reports of three incidents in which the users reported second-degree burns where the metal boom contacted their face.

Description: This recall includes NK R2 microphones manufactured before September 1, 2012. The recalled product is a microphone designed to be used by the navigator (coxswain) of rowed racing boats to direct the rowers. It is made of a rubber U-shaped base attached to a blue headband. A black metal microphone boom is attached to one end of the U and a cable with a flat, rubber-covered connector is attached to the other end. The microphones are used with the Cox Box and Cox Box Mini voice amplifiers. The NK logo appears on the headband. Recalled microphones have metal booms that are not covered by rubber and do not have a yellow warning tag on the cable.

Sold at: Nielsen-Kellerman Co. online and authorized NK dealers worldwide for about $99.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the R2 Microphones and return them to NK for a free replacement.

Name of Product: LED Clip-On Desk Lamps

Units: About 33,000

Hazard: The power cord for the lamp can detach where it meets the clamp, exposing energized wires, posing an electric shock risk to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: The firm has received five reports of cords detaching, including one reported electric shock and one report of a child receiving burns to her hand and leg.

Description: This recall conducted by He Shan Lide involves pink and blue plastic LED desk lamps with a flexible metal neck approximately 12″ long and a clamp at the base. The power cord has a silver label attached to it. On one side of the label “MET,” “Electrical Safety”, “E113152″ and “Apr. 2011″ are printed. The other side of the label includes the model number F3044-AC-01 (pink lamps) or F3044-AC-02 (blue lamps). The plug on the power cord is labeled “KENIC KE 01P E155176.”

Sold exclusively at: Lowe’s stores nationwide from May 2011 to December 2011 for about $20.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the lamp, unplug the power cord, cut the power cord off 2″ to 3″ above the plug, discard the lamp and send the plug to He Shan Lide, 4570 Eucalyptus Ave, Suite C, Chino, CA 91710 along with their name and address to receive a full refund, including the cost of postage for returning the plug.

Units: About 14,200

Importer: Legrand Wiremold, West Hartford, Conn.

Hazard: The electrical wires are reversed on the receptacles on the power strips, posing a risk of electrical shock.

Incidents/Injuries: One incident was reported. No injuries were reported.

The power strips come in a red package with “Wiremold-Series Part PX1001″ printed on the front. The manufactured dates of the recalled products are presented as product date codes January 2011 through June 2012, and are found imprinted on a circle on the bottom with an arrow pointing to the number of the month and the year “11″ or “12″ in the center. The model number PX1001, and UPC number 0 86698 00125 3, are imprinted on the bottom of the packaging. Power strips that have a star symbol printed in black ink on the packaging and on the back cover of the power strip are not included in this recall.

Units: About 53,000

Manufacturer: EDIC, of Los Angeles, Calif.

Hazard: The air mover/blower’s internal electrical capacitor can fail and overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: EDIC is aware of four incidents involving fires that resulted in property damage. No injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves air movers/blowers that are used to dry floors in homes and other buildings. “Aqua Dri” is printed on the top of some of the air movers. Model “3004AD” or model “3004ADxxx” (with additional letters) is printed on the serial number plate on the back of the units. Model numbers with “N” are not included in this recall. The air movers’ plastic housing measures about 18 inches high by 18 inches long by 18 inches deep and has a 25-foot yellow electrical cord.

Sold to: Flood remediation contractors and other service professionals nationwide from January 2003 through September 2011 for between $160 and $285.

Description: This recall is of two models of 1500 watt Climate Keeper ceramic heaters. Both models have a fan, two dials on top, a wire mesh panel in front and the name “Climate Keeper” and a label on the bottom with the model number and ETL 3130679. Model #FH107A has grey plastic housing. Model #PTC-902T is an oscillating heater with silver-grey plastic housing, a molded handle on top of the heater and a small extra button between the two dials which controls the oscillation.
